REFUGEE CRISIS – COMBINED DIOCESAN RESPONSE
How YOU can help
Each Group/Union of Parishes throughout the Diocese is asked to provide as many baby, children and adult winter clothes and blankets for refugees throughout Iraq and Syria. The clothes must be in good order, washed and cleaned. Crutches and walking frames are also required. These gifts will be sent under the direction of Samara Aid direct to the areas of need, and distributed by them. Please view their website samarasaidappeal.com and see how we can make a difference.
The Coordinator for the Omey Group is Carole Reynolds (087 606 7848). With winter fast approaching it is imperative that we do all that we can – so please give as generously as possible.

Bishop Patrick’s Endorsement
I encourage those in every home across our united Dioceses to gather up good quality clothes and blankets. Millions of people are displaced at this time and the very least we can do is to give away those items that we no longer need. It is difficult for us who have so much to understand what it must be like to have next to nothing. The Gospel imperative, however, is clear – ‘share what you have with others’. I ask you all to look through your cupboards and pick out those items of clothing you will never wear again along with any spare blankets. Those who are so desperate will gladly accept them and the comfort and warmth they will bring. Please support this combined effort to offer practical assistance. Thank you.
